Dawn at the fen
An early wake up for some reason today, it looked clear although still dark so I knew it would be a nice morning to have a walk around the fen.
It was fairly quiet and crisp, the highlights are pictured below, also saw 2 Kingfishers, 1 Bittern, 1 Water pipit and the white bellied Marsh harrier (possibly the same bird that I pictured in the north broads in the summer?)
Super shots there Ben. As you have probably read, I had the Harris Hawk at Surlingham Marsh yesterday. Seems quite settled in the area. I noticed you guys have cut back some reeds at SCM, revealing some likely looking muddy banks for a Water Pipit. Many thanks!
I thought you might appreciate a bit of ditching. We had to take a digger over there to get a dead cow off the marsh so thought we'd do some impromptu ditch clearence, it should get water moving round the site a little better.
